Wally joined BBC Radio Norfolk when it began broadcasting on September 11th 1980 and has been there ever since.
He's Patron of the East Coast Truckers Childrens Charity and President of the Potter Heigham Country Fayre Fundraisers.
He rides a 1966 Lambretta 125 Special and spends a lot of time cruising on the Norfolk Broads.
He's an Ambassador for the Wherry Albion of the Norfolk Wherry Trust, a Friend of Hardley Windpump and a volunteer litter picker for his home community and a videographer for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Apart from serving in the Royal Air Force he's also a founder member of the East Norfolk Militia from which he's now retired and served four years as a Governor of Thorpe St.Andrew High School.
This Blog will keep you up to date on all these activities or you can go to his sister Blog to concentrate on the Norfolk Broads. All views and opinions that may be expressed are those of the author and not of the BBC.

NFU Mutual say agricultural crime in the UK cost nearly £50m in 2010. Pictured are left, Tony Bone from Farmwatch and Beeston farmer Hugh Scott who's been targetted a number of times already. Theft of diesel as well as valuable plant and power tools seem to be what the thieves are after and cause the farmer extra expense on sucurity.

Tuesday morning we're talking about the greenfield sites that might be used for housing developments after a shift in the planning laws. Looking out at the fields that separate Hethersett and Wymondham we discussed the issue with Yvonne Bendle. local councillor for Hingham and cabinet member for Strategic Planning and Localism at South Norfolk District Council. Then, to Breckland and at Thetford the public poll taling place tonight about the plans for a new bus station. Pictured are Growth Programme Manager of 'Moving Thetford Forward', Kevin Ward and against the proposals, Stuart Wilson and Terry Jermy. Another watch this space moment.

A straw fire at Litcham had the fire brigade out in the early hours but they were letting it burn itself out by the time I arrived. So, to Dereham where butcher Stephen Barnetson told how he's selling up after 25 years serving the town. He's hoping that someone will buy it as a going concern. Look at the note to his customers bottom right of pic.

A serious assault on Prince of Wales Road outside Chicago rock cafe left a man with serious head injuries. Here the forensic team is examining the scene. The incident was at 0225am - at 0715 the police reopened the pavement outside the venue.

I went to the Aviva offices on the Broadland business park. As the main Norwich City FC sponsors, I guessed that some of the staff would want to talk about the Cnaries first premiership match tomorrow against Wigan. Pictured ar left to right, Eamon Fountain, Eddie Royall and Gareth Potter.
