I did another little bit to cut down my carbon footprint today.
For just short of £25 I bought this "Intellipanel" which you can plug all your standby juice drinking bits into. So, instead of turning out the lounge lights and seeing all the little green and red standby lights glowing in the corner slowly drippfeeding my electricity bill, I can now press one button and turn the whole lot off without losing any of the seetings or clocks. This clever bit of kit has a remote sensor that you programme with your TV remote. When you hit the power off button on the remote, the unit automatically shuts down shuts down everything in stages. When you hit the power on button again it fires all your stuff up. Freeview, DVD,VHS,Stereo and Cinema units. You even plug your tv aerial through it so that it's surge protected and if your phone connection is near enough you can route that through it too. The pack comes complete with extra aerial lead and phone extension. With all the money I'll save I've already started looking round the boatyards for a new yacht!
