I had an e-mail this morning from Salvo the Clown. It's been some time now since I heard from Salvo and I'm pleased to report that he's still enjoying the Show. He included this ode which I broadcast a couple of times through this morning and a few listeners asked if I would post it on my Blog so here goes.
I AM THANKFUL
I am thankful for the wife who says it's hotdogs tonight
because she is home with me and not out with someone else.
I am thankful for the husband who's on the sofa being a couch potato
because he's home with me at not out in a bar.
I am thankful for the teenager who's complaining about doing the sishes
because it means she's home and not out on the streets.
I am thankful for the taxes that I pay
because it means that I'm employed.
I'm thankful for the mess that I have to clean up after a party
because it means that I've been surrounded by friends.
I'm thankful for the clothes that fit a litle too snug
because it means that I've enough to eat.
I am thankful for the shadow that watches me work
because it means I'm out in the sunshine.
I'm thankful for the lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning and gutters that need fixing
because it means that I have a home.
I'm thankful for all the complaining that I hear about the Government
because it means that we have freedom of speech.
I am thankful for the parking space I find at the far end of the car park
because it means that I'm capable of walking and been blessed with my own transportation.
I am thankful for my huge heating bill
because it means that I am warm.
I am thankful of the lady behind me in the church who sings off key
because it means that I can hear.
I am thankful for the pile of laundry and ironing
because it means I have clothes to wear.
I am thankful for the weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day
because it means I've been capable of hard work.
and lastly - I'm thankful for the alarm that goes off in the early hours of the morning
because it means that I'm ALIVE !
