It was a week since I brought home a slab of MDF (for our American followewrs that Medium Density Fibre board) or reconstituted wood flakes. After cutting it into a four foot circle she set to work with a cloth and mahogany stain varnish. Ten coats later and a couple of coats of gloss clear varnish and this is the result. Cost about £20 and a LOT of time and patience between rubbing down! Worth it though.
