Don't forget the birds!

Apart from checking on our neighbours, Sheri has been making sure that there's enough food and WATER out for the birds. I said "surely they can get water from the snow!" to which she replied "No!" It seems they can't. I'll take her word for it - so she's been out there tipping the block of ice onto the garden and replenishing the bowl with water at regular intervals and, as you can see from the photo, apart from fatballs, seeds and mealworms she's been maing sure they get part of their five a day by slicing up juicy apples.

Hi Wally
Can you tell me where you got the wire basket for the birds' food, please?
As you know, I have hanging feeders, fat balls and water etc but only the patio for the ground feeders and it gets very messing at this time of the year.
Thanks, Cec in Sutton.

You know me Cec - never waste anything. The basket is actually a wire tray that some bathroom products came in as a gift from some friends. It was too good to throw away and like most things ended up in the garage until Mrs. Webb asked if I had anything to put bird food in. She now wants me to make a little roof for it but I haven't found the right 'bit' to recycle yet!!
