This is a journey through a lifetime from early childhood in post war years through schooling and inventive years, leading to numerous jobs at the time of flower power and Mods on scooters. Over a decade with the RAF found him hiding from the SAS, and later leading a double life. From running successful mobile disco’s he moved into nightclubs when ‘Saturday Night Fever’ caused a boom. Throughout, a passion for radio developed and he left the RAF to pursue his dream. When BBC Radio Norfolk came to Norwich they turned him down but he persisted, and a chance meeting would change all that. His time with the BBC is chronicled year by year and starts when there was freedom to create spoofs and play his own choice of music. Over four decades he produces many programmes and visits every part of Norfolk meeting innumerable stars, getting involved in banger racing and wrestling, and adapting as new technology begins to change the face of the industry. This is the story of someone who turned down other opportunities in order to stay in the place he loved, with the people he loved. It documents his personal as well as his public life. He marries three times, and eventually reunites with a son he thought he’d lost. The national press wants to know “Is this the real Alan Partridge?” and the BBC send him into hiding. He has many adventures as he travels the world, and listeners come from around the world  to spend time in his company. He discovers boating through adversity, and cruises the Norfolk Broads. A future Prime Minister gets out of bed early to meet him, and his life and family are threatened. This candid and revealing biography reveals his inner thoughts, personal trials and his passion for the broadcasting profession and in the end, his achievements are finally honoured. Still going strong in his seventies the pandemic finally brings his broadcasting career to an end. Or does it?
